Lack Of Confidence

Are you not selling anything at all and realising that it may be because of a lack of confidence?

However, are you certain that that is the real reason?

As shown in the chapter titled: Excuses: I’m Not An Expert (and in my email story you just read of my outing to the iceskating rink ) I reckon if not yet got a product or service out there, that "I have no confidence" is one of the reasons you keep telling yourself why it is still not available for purchase.

Listen, if you don't believe in yourself (note I said yourself not your abilities to complete a task), you're defeated before you even start.

Can you see that?

If you want to meet your financial freedom goal, then by not getting started,  you will stay hanging onto a life you don't want but keep complaining that you need to change?

Success starts with your belief mindset and those type of self esteem thoughts you allow yourself to think and accompanying actions.

Why are you stopping potential customers from seeing your self-worth?

Your customers will definitely give you feedback and let you realise that you do have something to sell and are capable of doing and achieving.

You are more valuable and more capable than you realize.

Many service providers or product creators hold themselves back in the beginning, we all do, even in the animal kingdom - so don't feel too bad and beat yourself up at the first sign of project not going as planned.

We find ourselves continuing to do and say the same things each day until the day arrives when it either gets decided for us or we quit.

It's true.

We hold ourselves back and we stay stuck in the same vicious cycles for years... and some folks for their entire lives.

But why is this applying to you?

Well, the answer may lie in your childhood conditioning.

Recall my email about my mum critiquing voice in my head  whenever I attempted to cook a meal? So I have a good idea from experience what I'm talking about to explain one of the possible reasons for your lack of confidence.

Then as you grew up niddly reminders of your self worth were picked up with family members, teachers, classmates, shopkeepers, our boss and worse; those magazines and the television programs you watched...

...or still watching and reading?

I'm sure you had little reminders of others believing that you are not good enough, not smart enough, not talented enough so just accept their viewpoints doesn't have to be yours and just get on with it by getting those ideas out of your head and out of your way whilst you show your customers  that you can be an expert by passing on your knowledge by way of being of service or creating a product for sale.

Wow! That was a mouthful of a paragraph innit?

Am I right with what I said though?

Does it have to be this way for you - for life?

You’ve read my ebook I am certain that you know the answer to that last question.

LOL
no product no customers
How can customers buy if you haven't
shown them your product or services?

You Already Know Enough
You know that I know that you already know enough to get that product or service out there in front of potential customers.

You  already know enough to get the solution  done effectively for your buyer. (0nly one way to prove me wrong ;-)) Plus, it’s important to understand that learning never stops until your time of death.

I still have doubts somedays, however, I’m always quickly reminded that I do indeed know enough to pass on my knowledge and at the same time achieve my goals. This thought always gives me fresh energy to carry on.

And so can you too.

Furthermore, a lot of people do not know how to trust themselves - yet.  They still think they will screw things up or are not strong enough to make big things happen.

This is not true either.  It’s just another form of thinking you are not ready yet or that you don’t know enough yet.

You do.

How can you provide value to a marketplace? This is the one question that should be burning in your mind right now.

The answer?

Focus on provide service and information to the best of your ability. Recall Chuck Jones story in my last post found here?

Focus more on your own answers, not any competitors.

The only way to change your current belief of "I’m not an expert" mindset set is to:

Focus on how YOU can solve others problems

Next time you’re up against something that makes you uncomfortable, ask yourself what’s the worst that can happen?

As long as the outcome really isn’t life shattering, perhaps no buyers or you get a few requests for refunds or ‘bad’ reviews, it is still all good because you can gain some perspective on the situation as a whole whether to continue or to adjust your product or service delivery.

Either way, pushing through that discomfort zone, you’re going to come out on the other end with a lesson learned.

STILL BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE NOT AN EXPERT?
(And I’ll nudge you here to remember what my definition of an ‘expert’ is was given in the chapter titled: Excuses: I’m Not An Expert )

I still am convinced that you are one though because it is not all about confidence to make you go for it but courage!

Yes

It takes courage to leap into the unknown - and this is even when you think you are not ready to show the world your expertise.

You

Know

Enough

Your customers are waiting - so for it!

As always, let me end with my recommended reading that can delve even deeper and continue with this subject.

May be an oldie but still a classic in my view and was my intro to Anthony Robbins.

Can be described as a revolutionary fitness book for your mind and I think his teachings here are still relevant today as when they were first published way back when.

These books show you how your current  reality is the   culmination of what we have agreed to believe from birth.

The good thing is now that you are grown and still growing with knowledge. If what you have learnt throughout your life is not to your liking, take steps to change course and  allow yourself to rise above excessive worry and negative self-talk.

I once read that worrying was like swinging back and forth on a swing. An action that doesn't produce much results so as you possibly did as a child - jump off and get going with your product or service today (if not already started)

BTW: By now I am hoping that you have taken the  survey   where I am asking your request on helping me with my next book title?

If not you there is  more about it here if wishing to assist me.

Okay, I'll wrap up now and you'll hear from me again in my next email...
